There are so many of these frustrations that after one week of this I will never again make internet explorer my default browser AND I will happily use CHROME, a browser I preferred to avoid since it came out.ĭo I have to reinstall Windows 7 to fix this? At this point I’d like to rip out and discard every bit of internet explorer 11, and possibly windows 7 too! Is there any less destructive fix?
I already tried to tolerate the continual need to remove the SUGGESTED SITES although it is unchecked in the advanced settings. There’s the miraculous return of BING as the default search MSN as the default home page, etc. I remove them and reset my default search to google reset my home page and continue until I turn off my computer and turn it on again. Every time I turn off the computer and turn it back on I get the same defaults that I removed time after time. So, what am I supposed to do? I cannot remove this program.

When I followed instructions that led me to download ie 11 I got that familiar message that the program i have is more recent than the one I’m trying to install. Internet explorer 11 behaves poorly and I’d like to uninstall it but I can’t. The Wrong Way to Change Your Email Address - Simply emailing your entire contact list with a notice that you've changed your email address is NOT the way to change your email address. How Do I Get Data Off of the Hard Drive in a Dead Computer? - Extracting data from a hard drive in a dead computer isn't typically difficult, unless it's the drive itself that caused the problem. What Your Email Address Says About You - It's not as bad as it once was, but which email provider and what email address you have can cause some to make assumptions about who you are and what you do, or don't, know. That’s what I think has to happen here if the previous ideas don’t work. Theoretically, that would also clean up Internet Explorer.īut that’s the path I think we’re heading down. I have an article on that, “ How do I remove malware?” There are some things that you can try there including a repair reinstall of Windows. If that doesn’t resolve the problem, then aside from just using a different browser, like Chrome or Firefox, the only thing that I can suggest is that you go down the path of just removing malware in general.

This time, when you go to the download site, it should allow you to download that most current version of Internet Explorer and install it from scratch. There may be some warnings along the way and that’s okay, because we’re going to turn right around and then reinstall it. That should remove most of 1 Internet Explorer and its components. And in there, uncheck Internet Explorer 10. Now, if that doesn’t solve the problem, go to the Programs in Control Panel and find the Turn Windows features on or off section. Malwarebytes can sometimes clean up these kinds of issues that other anti-malware tools might not necessarily catch. This feels like malware that was incompletely removed, has bugs, or is just causing this problem. The wording implies that you have something newer than what they have, but I believe what they really mean is that they don’t have anything newer than what you have – which would be the case if you have the most current version. That message appears when the download site has nothing newer than what you have to offer.
I honestly believe that the “more current” message that you’re seeing is a misnomer. Now, it’s going to be hard to say exactly what’s going to work to solve this problem, but I’ve got a couple of ideas. Based on what you’re seeing, I suspect that you’re already running Internet Explorer 10.
